Elsie’s chef Maari-Liisa Kiltner: What is your favourite dish?
In the heart of Zermatt, at the lively Kirchplatz 16, lies the unique Elsie’s Bar. (est. 1964). A First-class wine and champagne bar with the charm of the Roaring twenties. We offer premium wines and champagnes, many of which are also available by the glass.
In the cosy Elsie’s Wine and Champagne Chalet, we serve exquisite delicacies such as fresh oysters, caviar, snails, and other Swiss and international specialties.
During summer, Elsie’s delights with light and refined à la carte creations. Lovingly prepared, perfect for sharing, and ideally paired with our selection of fine wines and champagnes. Of course, our beloved classics remain on the menu.
The kitchen is open daily throughout the summer from 14:00 until 21:00.
Whether for an apéritif on the sunny terrace or an elegant evening overlooking Zermatt’s vibrant square, Elsie’s is all about relaxed elegance, culinary pleasure, and a true zest for life.
On Monday and Tuesday throughout the winter season, friends of great cuisine head to Elsie’s for a gourmet dinner unlike any other. Lukas Ryffel cooks his way into the hearts of Elsie’s guests with a special 4-course menu. Complementary to this is Elsie’s wine pairing option, with premium wines selected by Elsie’s wine connoisseur, Nevena Divena. Are you ready for a culinary feast in a class of its own? Good to know: Each Chef’s Table Menu is available for 3 weeks, after which, Lukas Ryffel comes up trumps with new creations.
